Praises and Prayers

Happy Praises and Prayers Saturday!!!

What an awesome week of study we've had this week learning how to break up with our bad habits!!  As I was reading about breaking up with our bad habits, it made me think about how comfortable our bad habits are and how fearful it is to let go of those bad habits to start new ones.  We've had a relationship with them for such a long time, we're often so uncertain of what will happen if we let them go.  It's like the alcoholic that knows they need to break this habit and addiction, yet alcohol has been their best friend for so long, they're not sure how life will be without it.  It's the brownie laden with ice cream and hot fudge that we run to when life throws curve balls at us.  We revert to the not-so-nice habits because they feel familiar, they are comfortable, they're what we know.

Our hidden habits and sins promise us rest and familiarity, but in reality they are dangerous.  Paul says in Romans 6:16 that sin leads to slavery, which in turn leads to death.  "Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slave to the one whom you obey-whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience which leads to righteousness?"

We have a choice to stop hiding out in our old destructive habits and instead come out into the light of GOD'S grace and learn a new way of coping-develop new habits.  We can run to HIM instead of our old and familiar bad habits.  HE will help us break those familiar bad habits and to form healthy new ones.

Please post your praises and prayers in the document so we can lift up your prayer requests, and also post your praises so we can celebrate and THANK HIM for all the great things HE is going!

IN HIM,
Kendra
