Try It!
Hopefully, we all know The Little Engine That Could and our own Kara blogged on her "can do" family. So before we get started, please do me a favor and repeat the following, each time a little louder and with more conviction than the first time:
With You God, I know I can!!
With You God, I know I can!!!
With You God, I know I can!!!
With You God, I will!!
In this section, Joyce made a list of things that she wanted to see happen in her life and found scriptures to back each of them up. She tells us to try and confess God's precious promises on a regular basis. She says "I believe if you consistently think & speak positive, good, life-filled things, you will see changes in yourself that you will like."
We have to get in the habit of thinking and speaking according to what we want to happen in our life. We have to change our negative thoughts to positive thoughts. We have to refresh our mind with God's truths & promises on a daily basis. In fact, on a several times a day basis. We need repetition or constant reminders. This is why I believe God used the word "Love" 232 in the New Testament - NIV version. He wanted it to become of part of who we are and He knew that we were going to need Him to be successful.
Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:36-40 NIV
In order to tackle our temple, we are going to have to believe we can make healthy changes and we must turn our negative thoughts into empowering thoughts. In the Made to Crave study by Lysa TerKeurst, she gives us "Go-to scripts". These statements can become our new patterns of thought that will lead to lasting victory as the Messiah touches our mess and turns it into a great message of hope to this world.
Take a look at Lysa's Go-To Scripts by clicking on the following links:

Print these scripts, write them on index cards, post them throughout your home. Do what it takes to stay in God's word and turn your negative to a positive.
1 Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
2 but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night.
3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
whatever they do prospers. Psalm 1:1-3 NIV

Father God, help us to turn our thoughts from negative thoughts to Your truths. Truths that lead us to victory. Do not let us allow the devil to get a foothold in our life by believing his lies and focusing on negative "I can't thoughts". Let us only focus on You and remember that with You, we can do all things. Be with each lady doing this study, reading this blog and let them feel your peace. Help us to encourage one another with positive affirmations. It's in Jesus name I pray, Amen.
Let's find scripture to back up our own list of things we want to change. Dig deep into God's word and share what you find. If you need help finding a scripture to back up your desired changes, ask for help here so we can dig with you!
I love you ladies and thank God for each of you.
Until next time,
Melanie
