Chapter 5,Section 1: Thoughts, Words, and Habits

“I frequently say,” “Where the mind goes, the man follows.”
_Joyce Meyer

Joyce begins this chapter be telling us what we Think and Say will determine our direction and those two things will form either a good or bad habit.  She tells us that when thoughts that come into our mind do not align with the new habit or a life goal we have to quickly take it captive and throw it. If we do not take it captive, we will find ourselves stuck in the rut and we just continue in our destructive ways.

This is good information for me because I know I let negative self-talk sabotage my good intentions. Good intentions go to the grave alongside, Dreams Never Realized. We must not simply think about what we want to change, we have to act. When Satan speaks the opposite into our minds we have to block it out. Look at it as a muscle you are developing, the more practice casting down thoughts that are not lining up with your goal the better you will become. Following this process will eventually become a new habit that will help you win in life!

Focus Scripture:

2 Corinthians 10:5

The above scripture shows us that we can cast out imaginations and take captive every thought that does not line up with obedience to Christ. We already know that taking care of our Temple is Godly.

Reflection Scripture:

1 Corinthians 6:19-20, Your Body, His Temple

"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?  You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price.  Therefore honor God with your body," (1 Cor. 6:19-20).

Prayer:

Lord Help us to THINK and DO the things we know to be true about your word and implement them into our daily lives. 1st Corinthians 19-20 clearly show us that you care about our bodies and that we will be challenged in our thoughts to go against what you have told us to do. Help us to guard our minds and not be still but to act and to fight for you would have us to do! –In Jesus name,  Amen!

Until Next Monday,

Leanne
